Makes their Hong Kong Debut

The Danish String Quartet “is in a different league altogether, and one that should be attended every time they’re in town.” (Examiner). This unusually blonde and bearded young string quartet has been winning the world over with their “warmth, wit, beautiful tone, and technical prowess” (NPR). Known for their diverse programming, incredible versatility and programmes ranging from Beethoven to Nordic folk tunes, these Danish musicians bring a fresh face to the traditional classical string quartet. The quartet has seen incredible success and rave reviews throughout their ten years together, and are set to mesmerize Hong Kong audiences in their Hong Kong debut.

With dazzling stage personalities and exceptional musicianship, this pair will come to Hong Kong for the first time in this Premiere Performances concert featuring gems of the violin, piano and duet repertoire.

Dialogue on Schubert’s songs with Benjamin Appl
In light of two concerts with Schubert songs to be sung in April in Hong Kong, Goethe-Institut Hongkong in collaboration with Premiere Performances and The Classical Singers are co-presenting a special discussion about Schubert and his songs. Expert panellists are Benjamin Appl, London-based German baritone, Caleb Woo, Hong Kong-based baritone and Professor Su Yin Mak, Associate Professor, Department of Music, Chinese University of Hong Kong. The talk will be conducted in English and moderated by Dr Sylva Chan, Founder of The Classical Singers

The 9th Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival wrapped up last week after 12 days of spectacular music. Over 4,800 people attended the 22 Chamber Music Festival events, including almost 3,300 audience members at the six ticketed concerts. This year’s Chamber Music Festival featured 16 international and 20 local musicians. Many audience members said that it was our best chamber music festival to date!
