Hong Kong, 17 November 2017 – Premiere Performances of Hong Kong, the city’s preeminent presenter of solo recitals and chamber music, is proud to announce the lineup of the 9th Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival (“HKICMF” or the “Chamber Music Festival”), taking place from 13 to 24 January 2018. Taiwanese violin superstar Cho-Liang Lin returns as Artistic Director, alongside 16 top international and 8 local musicians.
Musical America names Andrea Fessler to its list of Top 30 Professionals of the Year of Classical Music: Movers & Shapers
Premiere Performances of Hong Kong, the city’s preeminent presenter of solo recitals and chamber music, is proud to announce that Andrea D Fessler, its Founder and Executive Director, was named one of the Top 30 Professionals of the Year: Movers & Shapers by Musical America Worldwide. According to this publication, “these are the people redefining and driving the performing arts towards a future shaped by their vision.” For over 100 years, Musical America Worldwide has been the voice of the performing arts industry.
The sousaphone is named after John Philip Sousa, bandmaster and composer of so many marches – including ”The Stars and Stripes Forever” – he was nicknamed “The March King”. He had early versions of the sousaphone made according to his specifications in the late 19th century.
We hope you all enjoyed the Z.E.N. Piano Trio recital. They performed two encores, Hungarian Dance No. 6 in D Major by Brahms (arr. Lous Ries) and Humoresque, Op. 101, No. 7 by Dvořák.
