[December 2021, Hong Kong] Premiere Performances of Hong Kong (Premiere Performances) announces the return of their annual chamber music festival – the Beare’s Premiere Music Festival – which will take place from 9-23 January 2022. Described by the South China Morning Post as “Hong Kong’s cultural landmark”, the celebrated music festival has been held annually in January since 2009.

Despite the recently tightened travel restrictions, Beare’s Premiere Music Festival 2022 will include over 20 overseas and local musicians, including the Hong Kong début of Chinese cellist Xin Shi, Slovenia-based Chinese violinist Dan Zhu, Shanghai/Berlin based Chinese pianist Zee Zee (Zhang Zuo), and more. The festival will also feature Hong Kong’s own musical powerhouses, including the legendary jazz guitarist Eugene Pao, pianists Chiyan Wong (returning from Berlin), Warren Lee and Colleen Lee, the Romer String Quartet, and more.

Beare’s Premiere Music Festival 2022 presents eight exciting ticketed programmes. In addition to three exceptional chamber music concerts, the festival will also include a jazz concert, a family concert, an outdoor concert and three film screenings.

The Beare’s Premiere Music Festival was cancelled in January 2021 due to the closure of venues during the pandemic.

In additional to the ticketed events, the Beare’s Premiere Music Festival also includes free outreach and education events (both in person and online) designed to enhance the audience’s understanding of the music, including Zoom chats with artists, podcasts, masterclasses, open rehearsals and more. Although unable to participate the festival in-person due to travel restrictions, Artistic Director Cho-liang Lin will be joining virtually via various online events. Details of these events will be announced soon.

Tickets are now available via pphk.org, art-mate and URBTIX. Enjoy up to 30% off with the festival package.
