Hong Kong – From 12 to 24 January, Beare’s Premiere Music Festival 2019 hosted 22 internationally acclaimed musicians plus a chamber orchestra for 5 ticketed concerts, a gala fundraising dinner and 20 outreach and education events, including free community concerts, masterclasses, lectures and open rehearsals, to engage with the community and individuals interested in experiencing chamber music.

Beare’s Premiere Music Festival also welcomed the return of Cho-Liang Lin as Artistic Director for the 8th year. Commenting on this year’s Festival, he said, “I loved the musicians who played. There was so much accomplished musicianship imbued with virtuosity and genuine camaraderie.”

Superstar Joyce DiDonato and award-winning chamber orchestra Il Pomo D’Oro kicked off the Beare’s Premiere Music Festival with a breath-taking performance entitled, “In War & Peace: Harmony Through Music.” Many audience members commented that it was one of the best concerts they’d ever seen in Hong Kong.

Viva Tango! The Music of Schifrin & Piazzolla brought the festival to a rousing close with a concert dedicated to the music of Argentina.

The six world-class concerts offered memorable musical experiences for fans in Hong Kong. Music lovers who missed this year’s festival can still enjoy by watching the performances online until February 1st: Forward Movement and Viva Tango!
