“Kortum’s music has an old soul but a young heart. She takes big liberties on every swinging little number and those interpretative skills make her familiar music sound fresh.”
Matty Bannond, Jazz Journal UK

When you hear her sing — look out. She’s able to tell a story through her music, and it makes everyone around her want to stop and listen.”
Donald Vega

Experience one of jazz’s brightest new voices, Kate Kortum, straight from Jazz at Lincoln Center

This May, join us for a spellbinding evening with breakout jazz vocalist, Kate Kortum and her Quartet, at the Tea House Theatre, Xiqu Centre.

With a lush, velvety voice that effortlessly bridges bebop and Broadway, Kate Kortum has captured the attention of millions, quickly emerging as one of jazz’s most exciting young voices. A Juilliard graduate and winner of the 2025 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Kortum has graced some of the world’s most legendary jazz stages including Birdland, Blue Note, Mezzrow, and Dizzy’s Club. She has collaborated with masters like Bryan Carter, Peter Bernstein, and Wynton Marsalis. Her debut album, Good Woman, reinvents male-penned jazz standards through bold arrangements and a unique female perspective. It received over one million streams in its first month and has now surpassed 3.5 million, cementing her status as a thrilling new force in jazz.

The Kate Kortum Quartet promises a jazz evening filled with freshness and warmth. Each ticket includes a complimentary beverage (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available), and drinks are also available for sale on the night at the venue.
