Topic: Creative ideas to explore in the Music classroom

Are you wanting new ideas to bring creativity into your Musical classroom?

This workshop will focus on simple creative processes to engage students in their learning. Participants will sing, play and move to explore musical elements, leading to simple composition and performance. In particular, the workshop will highlight rhythmic exploration, supporting improvisation and building confidence for composition. The session will be active and engaging with very practical ideas for the classroom.

Target:   Special Educational Need School & Kindergarten Music Teachers, Instrumental/Vocal Tutors
Fee:        $100 per person

About the speaker:
Dr Sue Lane has been a committee member and presenter with Orff NSW for many years, supporting educators in the exploration of creative music experiences. Sue worked for many years as a music specialist and classroom teacher in schools on the Central Coast of NSW, before lecturing in Music and Dance Education at the University of Newcastle and more recently at the University of Technology, Sydney. She also works as a music educator and presenter with Musica Viva In Schools and Sydney Symphony Education. Sue completed her PhD in 2019 and continues her research work related to arts education provision in Australian primary schools. She had previously toured and presented in Hong Kong with Musica Viva Australia.
