身兼演奏者、製作人與教育者的 Ulysses Owens Jr.，在爵士樂界與更廣阔的音樂領域不斷突破界限，至今已推出八張個人成功專輯。他亦因參與 Kurt Elling 與 The Christian McBride Big Band 的格林美得獎專輯演出而備受矚目；此外，他也參與了五張獲格林美提名的專輯，合作對象包括 Joey Alexander、Christian McBride Trio、John Beasley’s Monk’estra 與 Gregory Porter。
他的專輯《Songs of Freedom》獲 Jazziz 與 Rolling Stone 雜誌選為 2019 年十大專輯；而在 2021 年，他的大樂團作品《Soul Conversations》更獲 JazzIz 雜誌評選為 2021 年 5 月最佳專輯。《Soul Conversations》亦被加入 Apple Music、Spotify 與 Sirius XM 的多個播放清單；樂團其後展開美國巡演，並獲 DownBeat 雜誌評為 2022 年「Rising Star Big Band」。
他近期推出的（第八張）專輯《A New Beat》，由他全新的「Generation Y」樂團演出，並由 Cellar Jazz 唱片品牌發行。專輯由 Jeremy Pelt 擔任製作，於新澤西州傳奇的 Rudy Van Gelder Studios 錄製。自 2024 年 1 月起至 3 月底，該專輯在 JazzWeek Radio Charts 連續 8 週登上第 1 名；同時亦獲 Tidal Jazz、Apple Music 與 Amazon Music 多個播放清單收錄。
作為作者，Ulysses 已出版三本著作，分別為：《Jazz Brushes for the Modern Drummer: An Essential Guide to the Art of Keeping Time》、由 Simon and Schuster 發行的《The Musicians Career Guide: Turning Your Talent into Sustained Success》，以及為 Hal Leonard Publications 出版的《Jazz Big Band for the Modern Drummer: The Essential Guide to the Large Ensemble》。他最新的大樂團教材在加州 Anaheim 舉行的 NAMM 2024 會議上，獲 Music Inc Magazine 頒發「Editors Choice」獎。他亦定期為 The New York Times、Jacksonville Music Experience、Downbeat Magazine、Jazz Times Magazine、Not So Modern Drummer、Percussive Arts Journal 撰稿，並為 Florida Times Union Newspaper 撰寫評論（Op-Ed）。此外，他剛完成第四本著作《30 Day Jazz Drummer》，由 Drumeo publications 出版。
在教育領域方面，Ulysses 已在茱莉亞音樂學院爵士樂系擔任小型合奏（Small Ensemble）總監逾八年，並曾於 EDIB（Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging）委員會服務。他亦參與多個論壇、負責甄選現場與預先篩選團隊工作，並在 Alan D. Marks Entrepreneurship 部門教授多項工作坊。同時，他亦是家族藝術非牟利機構 Don’t Miss A Beat 的藝術總監；該機構以音樂劇（Musical Theatre）作為工具，協助青少年獲得具轉化性的生命體驗與未來發展，並因其在美國東南部社區藝術非牟利領域的領導地位而獲 National Endowment for the Arts 頒發資助。
近期，Ulysses 與 Musora Media 及其樂團「Generation Y」合作，推出翻奏影片《Jazz Meets Nirvana》，累計已突破 500 萬次觀看，仍持續攀升。他亦最期待擔任百老匯全新原創製作《A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical》的鼓手，該劇於 11 月 11 日在紐約 Studio 54 劇院開演，並於 2025 年 2 月 23 日落幕。他同時在 Modern Drummer Magazine 讀者票選中獲選為 2024 年最佳爵士鼓手，並剛獲得 Drumeo 2024 Jazz Drummer of the Year、DownBeat Magazine Critics Poll 的 2025 Rising Star Drummer，以及 2026 Drumeo Dom Famularo Educator Award。他亦剛推出個人爵士鼓獨奏專輯《Play The Drums Vol.1》，收錄其自作作品，並以其自家廠牌 Unanimous Music 發行。他的樂團 Generation Y 將於 2026 年 3 月 27 日由 Cellar Live/La Reserve Label 全球發行第二張專輯《Around The World With U》，並計劃於 2026 年 4 月與 Musora 合作錄製第三張專輯。
Ulysses 亦剛入選 Florida 州 Jacksonville Music Hall of Fame 首批 30 位入堂者，這份殊榮源於他長年與家鄉保持緊密連結。他依然因多項新計劃而備受邀約，被視為同世代最受追捧的思想領袖之一；然而對他而言，始終最重要的是回饋社群，並珍惜每一個新日子，為他人的生命帶來改變。他亦是 Recording Academy 的投票會員，並於 Grammy University Mentorship Committee 擔任委員。
