He is considered the heir of Maurizio Pollini, for his ‘intellectual’ approach”
Corriere della Sera

With his rare intellect and bold interpretations, young Italian pianist Filippo Gorini has quickly gained international fame after winning the Telekom-Beethoven Competition in 2015. He was later honored with the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and the Premio Abbiati (Best Soloist of the Year) in 2022.

Gorini has performed at some of the world’s most renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Konzerthaus, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and Wigmore Hall. His exceptional talent impressed the legendary Alfred Brendel, who later invited him to study under his mentorship.

For his Hong Kong debut, Gorini will bring his enterprising project Sonata for Seven Cities, which involves month-long residencies in seven major world cities designed to share music with a wider community. Following residencies in Vienna and Cape Town, he now comes to Hong Kong.  For his recital, he will be performing works by Brahms and Schubert as well as a world premiere by the prominent Swiss-Austrian composer Beat Furrer.
